ABR testing is a safe and painless way to measure the response of the auditory nerve to sound. Gebbie Clinic offers non-sedated Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing for infants referred by their newborn hearing screening, and for children or others that cannot complete behavioral hearing testing. This is a one and a half hour appointment during which the client is educated about hearing aids. If they are, a hearing aid consultation is scheduled. After the hearing evaluation is completed, it is determined if the client is a candidate for amplification. In addition to the hearing aids, we also offer a comprehensive selection of assistive devices and blue tooth connectivity options. We offer the latest in digital technologies. The Gebbie Clinic offers a full range of diagnostic hearing services. Anyone is welcome to come to the Gebbie Clinic for services however, if you are not insured with one of these companies, payment is the client's responsibility. We currently participate with Medicare (Non-Supplemental), POMCO/UMR, NYS Employees Empire Plan, Aetna, Humana, and Excellus BCBS(except NYS sponsored plans). Services are provided by our highly skilled students, who are earning advanced degrees in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, under the direct supervision of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologist licensed by the New York State Department of Education and certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
